Stability: Labile specimen. Keep refrigerated.
Reasons for Rejection: Same assay within 4 days, gross contamination, hemolysis, lipemia, icterus
Days Performed: Tuesday and Friday
Times Performed: Morning
TAT: Same day, 72 hours up to 1 week.
Special Instructions: Specimen is serially diluted and tested for antibodies. Results reported as highest dilution of specimen that still shows detectable antibody reactivity. If performed to confirm negative or equivocal EIA result, limited IFA assessment is performed.
