Significance: Used for interpretation in terms of hypo, normal or hypercoagulable state, degree of lysis and other measurements of coagulopathy
Special Instructions: Deliver to lab immediately, samples must be hand delivered, cannot be transported via pneumatic tube except from approved ORs. Indicate whether with or without heparinase. Indwelling lines should be flushed with saline only and 5 mL of blood should be discarded prior to collecting samples for coagulation studies.
