Stability: 2-8C: 2 hours; -15 to -25C: 3 days; -60 to -90C: 4 weeks
Reasons for Rejection: Sample not kept on ice, hemolyzed samples
Days Performed: Daily
Times Performed: Continuous
TAT: STAT: 1 hour; Routine: 2 hours after receiving in lab
Significance: Cefoxitin (Roche) at the therapeutic drug level and Intralipid cause artificially high ammonia results. Physiological plasma concentrations of sulfasalazine may lead to erroneous results. Temozolomide at therapeutic concentrations may lead to erroneous results.
Special Instructions: Deliver to lab immediately on ice.
