Methodology: In Situ Hybridization Chromogenic Probe
Specimen: Prepared unstained tissue cut at 4-5 microns. Use positively charged slide and affix tissue to lower half of slide . Do not use adhesive.
Alternate Specimen: Tissue Block
Temperature: Room temperature
Stability: Slides are stable indefinitely. Protect against breakage. Paraffin block is temperature sensitive and may need to be submitted on ice in hot weather
Reasons for Rejection: 1) Incorrect or incomplete patient identification. Label both the test requisition and container with 2 patient identifiers. 2) Slide broken beyond repair
Days Performed: Monday - Friday
Times Performed: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
TAT: 48 hours
Special Instructions: Complete VPLS Test Requisition. Request special requisition form No. 60-002-664, listing stains if you will be ordering these on a regular basis. Package slides in durable slide holder and place with any blocks in padded envelope to protect from breaking.
