Tube Type: Red top tube (no gel)
Specimen: Serum
Alternate Specimen: Dark green top (Sodium Heparin), Light green top PST (Lithium Heparin with gel) or lavender top (EDTA)
Pediatric Requirements: 1 red microtainer
Volume: 5 mL
Minimum Volume: 1 red top
Temperature: Must be centrifuged in room temperature centrifuge, separated, and plasma frozen.

Significance: Patient results determined by assays using different manufacturers for methods may not be comparable.
