Reference Range: 0 - <15 days: 0.3-0.7 mg/dL; 15 days - <1 year: 0.1-0.3 mg/dL; 1 year - <9 years: 0.1-0.2 mg/dL; 9 years - <13 years: 0.1-0.3 mg/dL; 13 years - <19 years: 0.1-0.4 mg/dL; 19 years - 150 years: 0-0.5 mg/dL (Pediatric Reference Ranges only verified for serum, see CALIPER Study in Colantonio DA, et.al Clin Chem 2012;58(5):854-868.)
Tube Type: Light green PST (Lithium Heparin with gel) tube
Specimen: Plasma
Alternate Specimen: Serum
Pediatric Requirements: 1 light green microtainer
Volume: 2 mL plasma
Minimum Volume: 0.3 mL plasma
Temperature: Separate within 1 hour and store/ship @ ambient temperature until delivery.
Stability: 20-25C: 2 days; 2-8C: 7 days; -20C: 3 months; -80C: 3 months
Reasons for Rejection: Hemolysis, lipemia, improper collection, QNS

TAT: STAT: 1 hour; ROUTINE: 2 hours after receiving in lab
